2026–27 School Counselor Box

Division of Enrollment Management | University of Mississippi

Project

Designed a custom gift box for the University of Mississippi’s 2026–27 school counselor outreach. Distributed by admissions counselors to the school counselors they work with, the box was created to turn a collection of recruitment goodies into a more intentional, distinctly Ole Miss experience. The exterior uses bold university typography, while opening the box reveals a custom pattern of hand-drawn campus and Mississippi-inspired illustrations across the interior, bottom, and dust flaps.

My Contribution

I developed the visual concept, illustrated the custom elements, created the repeating pattern, and designed the full box across its exterior and interior surfaces. I considered the physical experience of opening the package as part of the design, using unexpected details inside the box to extend the visual identity beyond the first impression.

25-26 Admitted Student Yield Box

Division of Enrollment Management | University of Mississippi

Project

Designed a custom yield box sent to approximately 6,000 admitted students as part of the University of Mississippi’s effort to encourage enrollment. The concept builds on “Hotty Toddy,” a phrase woven throughout Ole Miss culture, and turns it into a question for students still deciding where they belong: What will it mean to you? Paired with the university’s “Make It Yours” messaging, the box invited admitted students to begin imagining what their own Ole Miss experience could look like.

My Contribution

I developed the creative concept and designed the full packaging experience, carrying the idea across the exterior, interior, and dust flaps. I also created the hand-drawn illustrations used throughout the repeating pattern, combining familiar Ole Miss symbols with messaging that unfolds as the recipient opens the box. The finished boxes were filled with branded treats and mailed to approximately 6,000 admitted students. The unboxing experience also found an audience beyond the original mailing when a recipient shared the box on TikTok, where the video gained significant organic traction.

25-26 Legacy Box

Division of Enrollment Management | University of Mississippi

Project

Designed a custom recruitment box sent to approximately 2,000 high school juniors who are children of Ole Miss alumni. The concept draws from the opening lines of the Ole Miss alma mater, beginning with “Way down south in Mississippi, there’s a spot that ever calls,” and carries the lyrics across the package. The reference was intentionally designed to work differently for its two audiences: a prospective student might encounter the words without immediately recognizing them, while an alumnus parent likely would, creating a natural conversation between parent and child about Ole Miss, their family’s connection to the university, and the student’s own college search.

My Contribution

I developed the creative concept and designed the full packaging experience, using typography, botanical elements, and layered university references across the exterior, interior, and dust flaps. The unboxing itself completes the concept: after encountering the alma mater’s description of a place that “ever calls,” the recipient opens the package to find the question, “Will you answer the call?” The design uses alumni nostalgia as an invitation rather than an expectation, giving the prospective student space to imagine what their own connection to Ole Miss could become. The finished boxes were filled with branded gifts and mailed to approximately 2,000 legacy juniors.
